Starset bring “HORIZONS” tour to House of Blues Las Vegas (Show Review)

By Savannah Rowley

On Saturday, June 4th, hundreds of people packed inside the House of Blues in Las Vegas, NV for another amazing rock show featuring the bands Starset, RED, Fame on Fire and Smash Into Pieces. The show follows the release of Starset’s latest album HORIZONS which came out in 2021. Bringing all of the smoke and lasers, this is certainly a tour you don’t want to miss!

Swedish four-piece band Smash Into Pieces started the night off and got the crowd rowdy and ready for everything to follow. This band is definitely on the rise and one to watch, they may have only been around for six years so far but there is only more to come!

The four-piece Fame on Fire was next, originating from South Florida. They played some of their songs off their 2021 record Levels such as “Her Eyes”, “Lost in Doubt” and “Plastic Heart” off of their upcoming album Welcome To The Chaos out July 22nd, and also a cover of one of the fan-favorite Linkin Park songs “Numb”.

The four-piece band RED followed, originating in 2002 from Nashville, TN. They played songs off of at least four different albums, including fan favorites such as “Breathe Into Me” off 2006’s End of Silence, and “The War We Made” off of their 2020 album Declaration.

Waiting patiently, the crowd erupted in cheers as Starset came on the stage. Starting off the set with popular song “Carnivore” off of their 2014 album Transmissions, the night was full of smoke, lasers, outfit changes and lots of raging energy. The band performed several hits such as “Monster”, “Echo”, and songs off of their latest album Horizons such as “Earthrise” and “Infected”. Vocalist Dustin Bates even made his way over to the barricade at the end of their set during “My Demons” to grab some hands, and immerse himself in what he considered to be the best crowd on the tour so far.

The HORIZONS tour still has several stops to make, so be sure to catch these awesome bands on the road while you can! We can’t wait to see what they bring to the stage next time! You can purchase tickets to the rest of the dates here, and check out Starset’s album Horizons here.
