Having recently reached one million monthly listeners on Spotify (a rarity for any rock or metal band in this day and age), their 2021 album Glow On even debuted in the top 30 on the Billboard 200. Pretty big accomplishments, and they’ve managed to do it while integrating new influences into their sound – as well as keeping the core spirit of the band intact.
Anyway, they’ve playing huge rooms now, landing higher billing on major festivals, and generally bringing energy to anywhere they play. Considering Turnstile started out playing shows with the likes of Code Orange and many of hardcore and metalcore’s more notable bands, it’s been pretty stellar to see their rise in the music scene. It won’t be a surprise if they get nominated for at least one Grammy award, perhaps more – and if you can believe it, they’re getting on the radar of advertisers and companies everywhere as well.
In fact – and this is the reason for the NOT The Onion headline – they recently featured on a commercial for Taco Bell’s return of Nacho Fries. Talk about an appeal to exactly the correct demographic, if we’re being honest here. Unbelievable, really.
