WWE

Day 1

Atlanta, Georgia

Jan. 1st, 2022

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Title Match
The Usos (Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso) (c) vs. The New Day (King Woods & Kofi Kingston)

While the feud is stale, the Usos and New Day put on a fantastic tag match. It kept the action up the entire match and had the crowd going the entire time. Some close pin falls and moves that neither team do including a finisher that never is used as one by the Usos. I’d be happy if the feud ended here on a high note of a great match though.

4 / 5

Singles Match
Drew McIntyre vs. Madcap Moss (w/Happy Corbin)

Moss shocked me here with not only some of his moves but his ability to sell as well. Drew did his normal things and if this was cut maybe a few minutes it would have been a bit better instead of feeling so dragged out.

2 / 5

WWE RAW Tag Team Title Match
RK-Bro (Randy Orton & Riddle) (c) vs. The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford)

It okay match where it was clear Street Profits clearly had no chance. Riddle plays the face needing save and Randy is the perfect man for a hot tag. The match had a few good spots from Street Profits but nothing that sounds out much. Entertaining match but your typical bout.

2.5 / 5

Singles Match
Edge vs. The Miz (w/Maryse)

Honestly a very lackluster match. Miz and Edge are both great workers but this match was way too long. It had too many dull moments as well that slowed down the pacing. The ending picked up but the feud itself just did nothing for me.

2 / 5

WWE RAW Women’s Title Match
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Liv Morgan

A really good womens match, Liv has come to her own in the last year and made herself be a contender in the womens title scene. While we knew Becky would retain they kept it close with Liv getting some close calls throughout. I could see a brief title reign in 2022 for Liv.

WWE Title Fatal Five Way Match
Big E (c) vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley (w/MVP) vs. Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins

A very short title match actually. Granted it was all action and finishers from the second which gave this match nonstop action. Big E has had a short and somewhat lifeless title reign so while he’s super over its sad to see it end for Lesner. For what this match was though being last minute it was fun.
