Despite only having released it three weeks ago, the new Bad Omens and Poppy collaborative single, “V.A.N”, has racked up well over 5 million streams on Spotify alone. It’s one of three songs from Bad Omens that top Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, and given their recent overseas tour together, the single drop was calculated from the start for maximum efficiency and attention. It’s hard to say it didn’t work, even if the song may have been somewhat of a surprise from a musical perspective.
It appears to be a pretty big crossover hit, as well. The single has also reached the USA version of Spotify’s Viral 50, which tracks the 50 most viral songs going around right now. At #50, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see it rise in the coming weeks. Notably, it’s charted even higher on the UK version of the chart at #40, helping to cement the notion that the collective fanbases of Bad Omens and Poppy are just as strong in the UK.
