WWE – Wrestlemania 39 Night Two (04.02.2023) (Wrestling Review)

WWE

Wrestlemania 39 Night Two

Inglewood, California

April 2nd, 2023

Singles Match
Brock Lesnar vs. Omos (w/MVP)

This was what you expected and it wasn’t great. Lesner sold Omos well before just dominating and finishing it. Issue is Omos doesn’t have the skills in ring or persona like Lesner so Lesner putting him over for a bit does nothing.

Fatal Four Way Tag Team Match
Natalya & Shotzi vs. Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville vs. Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez vs. Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler

There was nothing going into this and the outcome was easy to see. The crowd hates Ronda and otherwise this was just everyone doing a spot then leaving so someone else could. A lot of the moves didn’t look really great either.

WWE Intercontinental Title Triple Threat Match
Gunther (c) vs. Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre

Fantastic just like you’d expect from these three. Nonstop hard hits and big spots. All 3 men are champ level and had the crowd going with close falls that could have went to anyone. Sure its similar to what they’ve done before but it doesn’t matter when the crowd is so behind them and the matches are so good.

WWE RAW Women’s Title Match
Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka

Another match that could have went either way and showed how both women are at the top of their game. Matches like this show why Asuka needs to be pushed more and Bianca shows just how versatile of a champ and wrestler she is.

Singles Match
The Miz vs. Snoop Dogg

Props to Snoop for improving when Shane got hurt but other than that, filler match.

.5 / 5

Hell In A Cell Match
Edge vs. Finn Balor

Biggest shocker of the night. Was anticipating this to be awful due to not liking Edges matches mostly since his return and being tired of this feud. This worked because they kept it as a faster paced, weapon using, brawl. The spots here worked and even with PG WWE they kept it interesting.

WWE Title / WWE Universal Title Match
Roman Reigns (w/Paul Heyman & Solo Sikoa) (c) vs. Cody Rhodes

A great epic tale of a match finale. While the story was good going into this it wasn’t Sami / Reigns level. That being said they put on a fantastic match and told a story here. So many big moments and close falls. The ref bump and interferences were expected but I didn’t expect the ending here at all honestly.
