GCW

Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 9

Los Angeles, California

March 30th, 2023

Singles Match
Calder McColl vs. Jeff Cobb

Solid opening match here. Quick but really liked the ending with Cobb.

2.75 / 5

Singles Match
Erik Hammer vs. Calvin Tankman

Another quick one and wasn’t a huge fan. Hammer here didn’t do much for me.

2 / 5

Singles Match
Killer Kelly vs. Marina Shafir

Really solid match here. Both women look vicious but matches like this really showcase Shafir.

3 / 5

Singles Match
Kota Ibushi vs. Mike Bailey

A really fantastic match here. The second half is nonstop action and should be used for future matches as reference. Crowd was super into this and behind both guys.

4 / 5

Singles Match
Bad Dude Tito vs. Yuya Uemura

A solid match and I like the dive they added that threw a fresh moment into this. Tito has the look and movements for stuff like this.

3 / 5

Singles Match
Harry Smith vs. JR Kratos

This dragged on a bit and was too slow overall. Had its brief moments though.

1.5 / 5

Singles Match
Johnny Bloodsport vs. Royce Isaacs

Not a fan of the finish here at all. They mixed normal wrestling moves into this too. It had its moments but I wasn’t crazy about it overall.

2.5 / 5

Singles Match
Jon Moxley vs. Alex Coughlin

Decent hard hitting match. Clearly Mox was winning here but it was solid.

3 / 5

Singles Match
Josh Barnett vs. Timothy Thatcher

Barnett finally loses his undefeated bloodsport streak to Thatcher. Thatcher deserves it too as not only someone who can go toe to toe with anyone but someone who legit comes off as tough as nails. The match was okay and had its moments but dragged just a little bit.
