Let’s Talk Wrestling : WWE NXT 2.0 – Episode 488 “New Years Evil” (01.04.2022) (Review)

A really good opening match. Had its slower moments and could have possibly used a few minutes cut but it had some great close calls and kick outs. Hayes finisher here looked great and like it works but also looks like an incredibly dangerous and like it could do some damage to his body down the line. He’s the smart choice to win though as he’s young and over right now and Strong losing won’t hurt him much.

Imperium continue to be one of my favorite things in NXT. MSK and Riddle here worked great contrasting styles with Imperium. The tag rules were a lot looser here to give way for a ton of bigger team spots which I’m always fine with. Riddle and Walter facing off had a great pop from the crowd as well. This was a really fun fast moving tag match that showed both teams strengths.

As usual a pretty sloppy match. Rose and especially Jade seem to botch a lot and some simpler stuff. Gonzalez here stolen the match and looked great with some feats of strength. Wish they’d tighten up these matches.

A much better match than their last title bout. Bron here looked sharper in ring and showed great promise kicking out of Ciampas moves one after another. Ciampa was the smart choice for the feud as he can make anyone look like gold as well. Bron may be newer but this was a smart choice to throw the belt on him since he’s super over with the crowd.
