California downtempo deathcore band Saltwound release their sophomore EP ‘Vol 2: Despair’

From the depths of Sacramento, California comes a pulverizing mixture of downtempo deathcore with the groove of metalcore. Saltwound found their footing with their debut in 2019 with their song ‘Revenant‘. Saltwound had momentum going before even dropping their debut song, their popularity skyrocketed even further with the release of their debut EP “[DEAD]WEIGHT” in the midst of 2020! Shortly after the release of “[DEAD]WEIGHT”, they were quickly on the road and performing live with Falsifier and Born A New. Saltwound perfectly encapsulates a cocktail of breakdowns and groove. Defining themselves as ‘NORCAL VIOLENCE’, the band holds that title proudly with unmatchable energy at their live shows. Saltwound currently rakes in over 30,000 monthly Spotify listeners. The band has unleashed their latest music video for their song ‘A Slower Death’, taken from their new EP ‘Vol 2: Despair’!

Now two years after their debut EP, Saltwound have returned to unleash their latest EP, Vol 2: Despair. This seven-track heavy-hitter is Saltwound at their current peak in their career. The EP features the band’s most popular track ‘Drowning’, which features Taylor Barber of Left To Suffer. From the start of the opening track ‘Despair‘ you’re buckled in for an intense ride that escalates with each passing track. One of my favorite tracks to come from the EP is ‘The Negative’, and it was hard to pick a favorite if I’m being honest. Saltwound displays an infectious groove with the brutality of Godzilla attacking a city. Saltwound has nowhere to go but up, and this EP is a great piece of metal music.
