The Benefits Of Metal Music For Cannabis Users

Many Metalheads and grower potheads of haze seeds, say that marijuana opens our minds. But do we really need to listen to heavy metal to experience the benefits of cannabis? We’ll discuss some classics, including Dopesmoker by Slabdragger and Electric Wizard’s “Born to Party.”

Stoner metal is demented, trippy and loud

Rock music for cannabis enthusiasts. The demented, trippy and loud sound of stoner metal is a great way to celebrate the high highs of marijuana and the heavy, dirty effects that it can have on the human brain. Down are a supergroup from New Orleans, featuring former Pantera singer Phil Anselmo. This band blends rock, death and jazz with sludge and stoner metal. Songs like “Hail the Leaf” and “Bury Me in Smoke” are a great example of stoner metal.

In honor of 4/20, the band will release a follow-up to their 1999 stoner metal classic, Dopesmoker. The album is called The Sciences and the band’s members have previously played in OM, Neurosis, and High on Fire. “Dopesmoker” has become a cult classic with its hour-long tribute to smoking weed. It has inspired other bands to record an album-length track about the drug.

Electric Wizard’s “Born to Party”

The fourth album from Electric Wizard, “Let Us Prey,” was released in 2002. The band announced their split during a North American tour, but continued. Bagshaw and Greening left to form Ramesses, and new members, Liz Buckingham and Rob Al-Issa, joined the band. The album is their most successful, and their best-selling. In 2007, they released the album Time to Die.

Nashville Pussy’s “Fertile Green”

The first single from their sixth album De Vermis Mysteriis was released in April. The group was scheduled to headline Rockstar Mayhem Festival and it was very disappointing for fans when Matt Pike announced that he was in alcohol rehabilitation.
