San Diego’s breakout alternative rock band Anakin have announced plans to release a tribute to the Beach Boys on June 5th via Kenobi Records, a record label the band launched on their own earlier this year. The mini tribute EP will include their take on The Beach Boys’ “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” and “God Only Knows”.

You might remember that Brad Chancellor of Anakin recently posted 5 of his favorite albums right here, earlier this year.

“The Beach Boys have been an undeniable inspiration to Jonathan and I since we were kids,” says the band’s Brad Chancellor. With ‘Pet Sounds’ about to turn 50 years old next year and the new biopic ‘Love & Mercy’ that comes out this summer, we believe the time to do this tribute is now.”
