WWE – Wrestlemania 39 Night One (04.01.2023) (Wrestling Review)

This was a decent match at best. Cena isn’t around much so I didn’t expect much from him nor for him to win. The ref part was entirely unneeded.

No story here meant they made this a fast paced spot match mostly and it worked well. Everyone got their moments in and there were a lot of big moments that the crowd was behind.

As expected this was great. Logan Paul continues to shine as a wrestler and Rollins continues to be one of the best / most consistent wrestlers in WWE. Rollins winning was right and had to happen. Paul has so much momentum behind him that losing doesn’t matter. The spots here were great too.

A fine match given two of the six women aren’t active wrestlers. This was rough in some spots but was expected. It was fun though, everyone got their spots in and they kept it short to not overdo it.

One of the biggest stories going into Mania. Dominik really has shown his improvement here which helps since Rey trained him. A lot of interference as expected which was fine. Rey winning here worked as it gave him a feel good family moment the night after he was inducted into the Hall Of Fame.

A shockingly fantastic match. Both women gave it their all here and the crowd was behind it. Rhea had all the momentum going into this so her winning was the best choice. Charlotte put on a great match here too though. Both women had big moves and close falls that had the crowd deadlocked into this.

A filler match. McAfee back is fun but Miz just has no direction anymore and its clear.

The tag match big enough to be able to headline a Wrestlemania with a story going into it that had everyone talking. These 4 men put on a clinic here and showed storytelling as well as a nonstop action paced tag match. Everyone looked great, everyone had big moments and spots, and all 4 will be remembered for this match.
