WWE – Hell In A Cell 2009 (Wrestling Review)

WWE

Hell In A Cell

Newark, New Jersey

Oct. 4th, 2009

World Heavyweight Title Hell In A Cell Match
CM Punk (c) vs. The Undertaker

Opening with Hell In A Cell and not even lasting ten minutes, odd choices. Punk didn’t look great here minus kicking out of The Last Ride. They barely used the cage either making this almost just a normal singles match. Nothing great and Taker here wasn’t looking amazing. Punk came off looking bad too against him.

2 / 5

WWE Intercontinental Title Match
John Morrison (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler

This match went way too long. It moved along really slowly too. Some good back and forth but just way too slowly paced out for what they could actually do.

2 / 5

WWE Divas Title Match
Mickie James (c) vs. Alicia Fox

A womens match that could have been on a Raw show. Quick match and no one came off looking good.

1 / 5

Unified WWE Tag Team Title / World Tag Team Title Match
Chris Jericho & The Big Show (c) vs. Batista & Rey Mysterio

This got better as it went on. Two teams that make zero sense together or have any chemistry though. Some fun moves, nothing serious as no one had chemistry here mostly because it was a tag match.

2.5 / 5

WWE Heavyweight Title Hell In A Cell Match
John Cena (c) vs. Randy Orton

I mean let me say this, this was a fine match as a normal match or street fight. As a Hell In A Cell match though this was lackluster. They already had one match that barely used the cage and while this used it more it still wasn’t great. A good match between these two though, just not a good use for a speciality type match like this.

2.5 / 5

Singles Match
R-Truth vs. Drew McIntyre

A quick and awful match. The crowd hated it, R Truth has agility and flips sure but this was a time when Drew was awful. Quick and pointless.

.5 / 5

WWE United States Title Triple Threat Match
Kofi Kingston (c) vs. The Miz vs. Jack Swagger

Nothing special. Picked up at the end and had a cool interesting moves. Not bad but any means but just nothing PPV worthy.

2 / 5

Hell In A Cell Tag Team Match
D-Generation X (Shawn Michaels & Triple H) vs. Legacy (Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase)

What a horrible main event. Almost never 2 on 2 and it just dragged and dragged on. Props for using the cage at least but never making this match even slightly interesting.
