WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 (Wrestling Review)

WWE

Elimination Chamber

Montreal, Canada

Feb. 18th, 2023

WWE RAW Women’s Title #1 Contendership Elimination Chamber Match
Natalya vs. Asuka vs. Nikki Cross vs. Carmella vs. Liv Morgan vs. Raquel Rodriguez

A fine womens chamber match with some glaring issues. The crowd wasn’t into Liv getting eliminated so early on. Some good spots here though even with some sloppy moments. Only thing was it started with a nice built then had some rapid eliminations leading to the finish which made it feel rushed.

3 / 5

Singles Match
Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley

A few big moves then a cheap DQ finish. Protects both guys somewhat but the crowd wasn’t into this. Assuming we get them again at Wrestlemania.

Mixed Tag Team Match
Beth Phoenix & Edge vs. The Judgment Day (Finn Balor & Rhea Ripley) (w/Dominik Mysterio)

A solid match but I’m honestly just tired for this feud and everyone involved. It had good action and Beth for wrestling rarely looks fantastic. I figured they wouldn’t have Rhea lose since she’s gonna win at Wrestlemania. The botch with the ref though was pretty bad.

WWE United States Title Elimination Chamber Match
Austin Theory (c) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Bronson Reed vs. Damian Priest vs. Montez Ford

A really good mens Chamber match. Seth and Montez were the shining stars here. Rollins being the one to start it and stay to the end. Theory winning works I guess but he also didn’t do much here in the match which also works as he’s a heel champ. Gargano and Montez had some big spots that were new to the chamber. The end sets up Logan Paul vs Rollins at Wrestlemania and was worked into this match really well.

WWE Title / WWE Universal Title Match
Roman Reigns (w/Paul Heyman) (c) vs. Sami Zayn

This crowd was all for Sami and this match. It had story for days and drama involved. The match itself was typical with both guys getting their moves and close falls. It just sort of fell apart towards the end. The ref bumps became excessive considering the first ref would have seen the interference and weapon use easily. I get suspending belief but it was minutes between ref involvement here. Now that the Sami story with Reigns is done and I assume we get KO / Sami vs Usos at WM I’ll be intrigued to see what they do.
