Though the band may be new on the heavy music scene, Shame Spiral’s new EP, The Solace In Suffering, is one that will be making waves in short order. Leading the charge of newer metalcore bands pursuing a decidedly more classic sound (right alongside Vatican and Orthodox, to name a few), Shame Spiral deliver a quick burst of energy here. In fact, it even might remind you of early 18 Visions or Disembodied, which is a huge compliment to what the band is trying to achieve.
Though the EP’s runtime is pretty short, there’s hardly a riff or breakdown wasted here. In a month where good releases are sparse and rare as a whole, don’t let December pass you by without hearing the new Shame Spiral EP. Especially if you’re like us, and you like #MOSHING.
