Closing in on 70,000 views since its mid-April release, singer-songwriter Ryan Cassata has gained prominence just from being himself with a recent video for “Daughter”. A story about the journey to self-acceptance and presenting your true, authentic self to others, the song is about Ryan’s coming out as a transgender man to his father. For much better context than we could possible give, we highly recommend reading his feature in Billboard – but suffice it to say that anyone who’s struggled to embrace their true selves will find something to appreciate on “Daughter”.
Ryan is also playing a benefit show for RECLAIM, which helps out queer and trans youth – some of the most vulnerable & at-risk LGBT groups. You can find the event right here, which is June 15th in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He’s also playing a number of tour dates, which you can find right here.
