Album Review: Maximum The Hormone – “Buiikikaesu”

This week’s review brings us into the realm of Japan’s nu-metal group Maximum The Hormone. They’re most commonly known from their debut on the “Death Note” series with one of their most popular songs “What’s Up, People?”. But what do these guys really bring to the table with their album Buiikikaesu?

Maximum The Hormone brings in the heavy aspect of metal, with an influence from punk music, and funky grooves to this album. Many go as far as to refer to them as the System of A Down of Japan, and they really show just how unique they are with just about every track from this record. With each song having its own distinct sound, with influences even from Japanese pop music. Buiikikaesu definitely hits every end of the spectrum in a well balanced way, without falling short with the chaos factor. This is a must have for any musician wanting to broaden their horizons. Check out their popular track “What’s Up, People?” down below.
