Maisie Peters proves to be pop’s next big thing at sold out Chicago show (Show Review)

The weather in Chicago warmed up for English pop singer Maisie Peters to hit Lincoln Hall for her much anticipated sold out show at Lincoln Hall. For the high energy crowd this was a night they won’t be forgetting soon.

Kicking off the evening was singer / songwriter Jonah Kagen. With a blend of acoustic based pop songs he wooed the crowd making new fans, while others in the crowd knew exactly who he was. It was clear as well with his between song banter that him and his band were loving the chance to be on stage and having fun. His songs were catchy and easy to listen to and I hope this isn’t the last time Chicago is seeing him.

The lights went down and Taylor Swift played to rile the crowd up as Maisie Peter and her band walked on stage to loud cheers. Kicking it off with “You Signed Up For This”, the title track from her debut album, Peters played through most of her album mixing in a few singles of hers as well.

Peters strutted around the stage during her set with the presence, energy, and charisma of a pop veteran. The crowd singing along to every word made it known too just how much they loved her and her easily related pop songs. It was very clear to see how during this show names such as Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift have even become huge fans of Maisie Peters. With a long career ahead of her I can’t wait to see what her next Chicago performance is like because if it’s anything like this, it’ll be a hard one to top.
