Trivium kicked off their 2018 fall headlining tour in style last night in Tampa, as the metal band is riding high on the success of a new record. The Sin And The Sentence, released just last year, is still fresh in the minds of listeners, and for good reason. It’s an important evolutionary stepping stone in the band’s discography, combining more accessible songwriting pizzazz with the ferocity you’d expect from a band that released their debut record 15 years ago. If it wasn’t clear that Trivium hasn’t lost a step, you need only have seen the crowd in Tampa.
Even better, we were able to dive into the mind of Trivium guitarist Corey Beaulieu, where were discussed everything from a mutual love of Tampa death metal (fitting, since the Ritz Ybor is very close to the legendary Morrisound Studios) to whether the band will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Shogun in any particular way (they will, sort of). Check out the full audio below, and thanks as always for tuning in.
