Labeled as post-hardcore’s “next breakthrough act“, New Jersey’s Indighxst certainly have a lot to live up to considering those lofty standards. However, the band’s new single, “Limbo”, is one that encapsulates what the band is all about – drawing from a wide array of influences from Dance Gavin Dance, to The Plot In You, to even R&B.
It’s this wide variety of influences that has brought the band a growing fanbase, and new fans will find “Limbo” to be a solid representation of their sound. And while the lyrical subject matter might consist of the disconnection many are no doubt feeling in these times, it’s also no less relevant. In fact, we’ve “invented” (maybe it was previously taken – maybe not) a new genre for the band – the all-encompassing “Warped Tour-core”.
