I Am Abomination release new single, “Lamb to the Slaughter,” ahead of anticipated new album

There was a point in 2019 that I felt we wouldn’t hear back from I Am Abomination after their successful crowdfunding campaign the year prior. It wouldn’t have been the first time a band had run off with money – some of my favorite bands, like Of Machines, Lead Hands, and Corelia have had members all guilty of this. Thankfully, the guys in IAA were just cooking up something wonderful in the oven.

“Lamb to the Slaughter” is a return to form, with Nick Sampson’s signature guitarwork on display with Phil Druyor’s brilliant verbiage that manages to establish a setting and mood eloquently. Brandon Good also returns on bass, and the trio have recruited Oceans Ate Alaska’s talented Chris Turner to record drums.

The track’s verse kicks off with a curveball in the band’s first use of blast beats to create a blistering pace from the get-go. Phil’s conveyance in the song hones in on conquering his enemy with swift force; his grandiose vocabulary paints a picture in the listener’s head better than most can. And, of course, Nick shreds some great riffs/solos as he does in every IAA track.

The video features a cavalcade of old conspiracy/horror movie scenes in black and white. This expands upon the tone of fear, something that we are not in short supply of in this current climate. Passion of the Heist II is releasing at quite the appropriate time, and is set to release on April 24th!
