Denzel Curry has certainly been on a tear as of late. Four critically acclaimed full-lengths into his career and countless collaborations later (including this year’s Unlocked with Kenny Beats), and you can probably label Denzel as one of music’s most prolific artists. After all, he’s seemingly always featuring or working on something profound – “Pig Feet” is one of 2020’s most impactful singles just by itself.
The accolades for Denzel Curry keep on rolling in, as well. His single “Clout Cobain”, which makes a remarkable number of references to the late Kurt Cobain, has now gone Platinum as of December 9th. The song, which explores the dangers of chasing popularity, is off his 2018 full-length TA1300.
I don’t know how we did it but…

And as Denzel notes, it’s pretty remarkable that an anti-industry song ended up going Platinum. The song was one of the main launching pads to Denzel’s fast-rising popularity the last couple years, and as The Big Lead notes, it’s one of Curry’s most ambitious works to date as well.
The fact I got a platinum record off a song that was anti industry really shows you can do this shit without these bitch ass labels long as you stay true and believe in your craft when no one else does and I’m grateful for the team and family I have and of course you guys
