Good news. After revealing during Coachella that the band’s new album was finished being recorded (with just his vocals left to finish), Chino Moreno has now entered the studio with Nick Raskulinecz to finish up their untitled ninth full-length record.
While details haven’t been revealed just yet, the excitement for the new material is evident from Deftones, and Chino Moreno was spotted in the studio in a social media post from the founder of their management group Velvet Hammer. Whenever it’s released, the album follows up their 2020 effort Ohms, hailed as one of the band’s most successful to date. It even landed them two Grammy nominations for both “Genesis” and the title track, so it’ll be interesting to see the direction they head in next.
