Best Craftable Weapons in Destiny 2

Crafting weapons is one of the best ways to get powerful weapons with the god-roll perks that suit your needs and playstyle. Instead of farming for a decent roll, you choose all the traits and even enhance them, given the few extra levels on the gun. Of course, unlocking the pattern of any chosen weapon may take a while, especially if it’s a limited raid drop, so let’s find out which weapons are worth your time to farm for.

Apex Predator
Getting this Rocket Launcher with the combination of Enhanced Reconstruction + Bait and Switch is worth all the trouble and time spent in the Last Wish raid. Make sure to pick up and complete the weekly quest at Hawthorne for the extra red border version to speed things up and farm the raid when it’s on a weekly rotation.

This Solar heavy is one of the top-tier options for the boss damage. As a Legendary weapon, it leaves room for some powerful Exotic weapons, including Izanagi’s Burden or Witherhoard.

Forbearance

To this day, the arc grenade launcher with the wave frame from the Vow of the Disciple raid remains one of the best ad-clearing weapons in the game and can be utilized on all levels of endgame content. You should craft it with the Chain Reaction and Ambitious Assassin Enhanced Traits for the most AoE effectiveness. To get it faster, complete the VotD with the Deepsight Puzzle and open up as many secret chests as possible if you’ve got at least one copy of the weapon.

Keep 20 Spoils of Conquest ready to purchase the weekly red border from the Rhulk chest. Unless you run a lot of raids and repeat encounters, getting Spoils is a difficult task on its own, so you can either save a bunch of time with a Destiny 2 boost or hit LFG and search for the Spoils farm group there. Choose what’s best for you, and stock up some extra for the coming weeks.

Osteo Striga

This powerful Exotic SMG pattern is rewarded for completing the Witch Queen campaign. Truly one of the best additions to the game, this SMG can spread poison through hordes of enemies and stack serious damage on a single target. If you still have not finished acquiring this weapon, make sure you go and do that right now and add one of the best ad-clearing weapons to your collection. I went through the entire Lightfall Legendary Campaign using pretty much nothing else but Osteo because it was enough.

Cataclysmic

As long as the Linears are considered for the boss dps, the Fourth Time’s The Charm, along with Bait and Switch on this weapon, make it the best legendary linear fusion in the slot. To activate the Bait and Switch damage bonus, you must play around with all your weapons, so pick something like Izanagi’s Burden and fast handling secondary to switch between weapons quickly and maximize your DPS potential.

Like the Forbearance, this is another Vow of the Disciple raid weapon. If you are lucky with red border drops, you can farm them both simultaneously.

Heritage

This heavy-hitting slug shotgun from the Deep Stone Crypt has been on the radars of endgame players for quite a while now, since the times of the double-shotgun meta to this day, and it is certainly one of the best special options in PvE. A famous god-roll combination of Reconstruction and Recombination is what you are looking for when pursuing the crafting pattern and farming the DSC raid for the red borders.

Succession

While we’re exploring the Deep Stone Crypt arsenal of weapons, let’s mention another great weapon – an aggressive Sniper Rifle that hits like a truck and comes with a unique to the sniper category Reconstruction perk, making it one of the best choices for PvE scenarios. Slap the Vorpal on the last column for the extra 15% Damage, and it’s ready to go.

Rufus’ Fury

Another raid weapon on the list comes from the Root of Nightmares, and it’s a strand auto rifle, which is a popular choice now, pairing well with all the meta Strand Builds and reliably making the Threadlings on headshot kills with the Hatchling Trait. Besides that, the 720 RPM frame features great damage and satisfying recoil, making it a desirable primary option for any player.

The Eremite

While at first, the Eremite did not look like a great DPS choice among the new seasonal weapons, given that the High Impact archetype is not currently in the meta, and favor goes to the Rapid Frames, yet the combination of perks such as Envious Assassin and Controlled Burst elevated this fusion to the top of the chart, especially when it comes to the sustained damage against bosses. If you want more boss DPS options, complete the Season of the Witch activities and pick up guaranteed red borders from the Ritual Table.

Commemoration

Courtesy of the Bray family, this void LMG is yet another great weapon from the DSC raid that excels at ad clear and will make quick work of any endgame activities with tough enemies, such as Elites or Champions. Craft it with the Reconstruction and Killing Tally for a nearly permanent 30% Damage buff, as long as you don’t change or reload the weapon.

Doom of Chelchis

This powerful void scout rifle can be obtained in the King’s Fall raid. The drop rate is decent, so getting the red borders should not be too much trouble. This Scout is a great choice for any endgame activity where you must keep your safe distance, such as Nightfall GMs, and is perfect for ad clearing with the Explosive Payload and Dragonfly perks. Alternatively, you can craft a unique combination of Firefly and Dragonfly traits to proc double explosions capable of clearing entire rooms of enemies. This is a must-have weapon, thanks to its incredible perk pool and the gunplay.
