By the time Atreyu released Lead Sails Paper Anchor in 2007, the metalcore band was on album #4 – and had joined up with a major label after three albums on Victory Records. After their highly successful run on Victory, Atreyu had honed their heavy + melodic formula that came to embody popular metalcore at the time, and realistically, they could have gone in several different directions.
To nobody’s surprise, though, that direction was a more commercial one. And it resulted in Lead Sails Paper Anchor, arguably the band’s most successful album to date.
The two tracks have now been certified Gold by the RIAA, for sales of over 500,000 copies. The singles are also Atreyu’s first two songs to earn Gold certifications, joining their albums The Curse and Lead Sails Paper Anchor. Success!
