Bad/Love pack the house in Melbourne for record release show (Show Review)

Bad/Love

April 21st, 2023

It was a packed lineup of heavy rock Melbourne-based bands for Bad/Love for their release
show for their EP Mono No Aware Part 1 at the Evelyn Hotel Fitzroy, Melbourne on the 21st
of April 2023.
The opening bands included Rumours, who played their last show together after announcing
they were going their separate ways, and the crowd ensured that they had a great send-off
by giving their all. The next bands to perform were Cordiform and Weighbridge, with the
crowd singing along to their songs, they did a great job of amping up the atmosphere in the
room, this Melbourne crowd gave off such a warm and welcoming vibe towards all bands
showing how close-knit the scene is in this Australian city really is.
Bad/Love then took the stage in front of an already riled-up crowd ready to hear the band’s
latest release, their EP Mono No Aware Part 1 which was just released that day. The crowd
came in full support as they played their new songs, with a large group in the front non-stop
jumping and yelling, only getting more energetic and even enticing lead singer Landon Kirk
into the mosh during the middle of their show. They work well cohesively on stage with Kirk’s
clean vocals and some screamo vocals mixed in from Lachlan Monty, whilst Luke Weber
constantly shows high energy from behind the drum kit, you can tell with the look on their
faces, they love what they do.
These guys have toured with bands previously such as Sleeping with Sirens and Alpha Wolf
and are on the rise, this EP is only the start of what’s to come. Bad/Love has an upcoming
tour starting May 4th supporting fellow Aussie band Redhook, they are one to definitely
check out at a live show as we wait in anticipation of the next part of their EP.
