Talk about a British (metalcore) Invasion. Earlier this year, Bring Me The Horizon’s “Teardrops” did it just a few weeks ago, but BMTH aren’t the only British rock/metalcore band making waves in the US (and abroad). Architects’ highly successful single “Animals”, off their newest album For Those Who Wish To Exist, is one of the band’s biggest crossover hits to date. No doubt fueled by the success of the record (which debuted at #1 in the UK and received its highest first week debut on the Billboard Top 200 at #80), “Animals” is now a big rock radio success for the band as well.
Recently released in a formal with an orchestra backing them, the song is currently #6 on the Active Rock radio charts in the USA – their highest charting song on rock radio to date. In fact, it’s surrounded by a who’s who of rock royalty – Foo Fighters, Chevelle, Corey Taylor, AC/DC, and the aforementioned Bring Me The Horizon – just to name a few. Pretty substantial stuff, considering it wasn’t terribly long ago Architects were still trying to gain a foothold in the metalcore scene.
