Album Review: Makeshift Fate – “Lost In Exile”

It’s been a few years since I’ve heard a metalcore band that really caught my attention, but Makeshift Fate definitely did that, along with getting me addicted to their new EP as well.

Makeshift Fate is a 5-piece band formed in Fayetteville/Raleigh, North Carolina. They are currently unsigned, but that doesn’t mean much for this post hardcore/metalcore band, for they are certainly on to do great things. “Lost In Exile”, their newly released EP, is very refreshing for a band of their genre. Their sound is aggressive, but nonetheless exciting. Their lyrics are hard hitting, and after listening to one song, you feel inclined to listen to the entire album.

The talent that makes up this band is undoubtedly evident in my personal favorite song “The Leech, The Disease” ft. Zane Walsh of Dormiveglia (another up and coming band). It’s upbeat and through the amazing vocals and sick breakdowns, it leaves you wanting more.

“Lost In Exile” was released 06/12/14, you can download it here:  http://makeshiftfate.bandcamp.com/
