AEW Dynamite – Episode 163 (11.16.2022) (Wrestling Review)

AEW

Dynamite

Bridgeport, Connecticut

Nov. 16th, 2022

Tag Team Match
The Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara) vs. The Blackpool Combat Club (Bryan Danielson & Claudio Castagnoli)

A really fun action packed tag match. Jericho didn’t cheat as much as expected as a typical heel would here. Claudio came off looking fantastic in the final moments though.

3.5 / 5

Singles Match
Swerve Strickland vs. Anthony Bowens

A solid single match from two tag guys. Bowens is good but hasn’t had much of a singles run in AEW so Strickland getting the win was expected.

2.5 / 5

AEW World Trios Title Match
Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo & Rey Fenix) (w/Alex Abrahantes) (c) vs. AR Fox & Top Flight (Dante Martin & Darius Martin)

A really fun spot match here as expected. AR Fox got a lot of time to show off actually and do his big moves which is great as he’s a fantastic talent and needs to be seen more. Otherwise this your typical AEW spot tag match where rules are loose and everyone does whatever they want. I know its not what everyone loves but I enjoy this.

4 / 5

AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament Semi Final Match
Ethan Page (w/Stokely Hathaway) vs. Bandido

This could have been a little longer but this was actually really enjoyable. Bandido looked great here as did Ethan Page. Final few minutes were super exciting but it was odd to see Bandido lose clean just after signing to the company.

3.5 / 5

AEW Women’s World Title Eliminator Match
Toni Storm vs. Anna Jay AS

A barely mediocre at best match. The crowd didn’t care a bit and knew Toni would win. She hasn’t been over much as interim champ and this showed it. Hayter post match got a big pop however so I think its her time for the belt.
