AEW Dynamite – Episode 123 (02.09.2022) (Wrestling Review)

Atlantic City, New Jersey

Feb. 9th, 2022

Singles Match
The Blade vs. Wardlow (w/Shawn Spears)

A pretty simple squash match for Wardlow. Blade at least had some offense kicking it off targeting Wardlow knees. Other than that this was the typical Wardlow squash.

Face Of The Revolution Qualifying Match
Keith Lee vs. Isiah Kassidy (w/Marq Quen & Matt Hardy)

Keith Lee being signed is pretty cool. Not exactly the best first match though. Went on longer than expected and Lee was looking a bit sluggish and gassed at times. He has the strength though and showed it well and I look forward to seeing what he can do in AEW.

Tag Team Match
CM Punk & Jon Moxley vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) (w/Tully Blanchard)

A fun but also somewhat stagnant tag dream match. While it had its great and fun moments it felt like sometimes the moments between them didn’t exactly work out well. FTR continue to be one of the best tag teams in the world and can make a good match with anyone and both Punk and Mox pulled out some stuff here. Would love to see them team together again.

AEW TBS Title Match
Jade Cargill (w/Mark Sterling) (c) vs. AQA

This ended up being less squash than I expected. AQA looked good here and has a very impressive moonsault finisher. Still not a big Jade fan though and think she has a lot to prove.

The Professor’s Five Minute Rookie Challenge Match
Serena Deeb vs. Katie Arquette
Another short squash for Deeb. Hope it leads to something better.

AEW World Title Texas Death Match
Adam Page (c) vs. Lance Archer

A super fun main event. I love that when Hangman bleeds he does it 110% and bleeds like its the 80s and he’s Flair. This match had some super creative spots and moments including losing the top rope so that Hangman couldn’t do his finisher. It also had some downright brutal moments, one involving the stairs.
