WWF Saturday Night’s Main Event – Episode 2 (10.05.1985) (Wrestling Review)

WWE

Saturday Night’s Main Event

East Rutherford, New Jersey

Oct. 5th, 1985

WWF World Heavyweight Title Flag Match
Hulk Hogan (c) vs. Nikolai Volkoff (w/Freddie Blassie)

A typical Hogan match here with him dominating most of the match. Crowd loved it, he praised the USA. This was just to kick the show off strong.

Singles Match
Uncle Elmer (w/Cousin Junior & Hillbilly Jim) vs. Jerry Valiant

An awful match by which matches should be joked. A waste of time. .1 isn’t low enough even.

Tag Team Match
Andre The Giant & Tony Atlas (w/Captain Lou Albano) vs. The Heenan Family (Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy) (w/Bobby Heenan)

A wrestling match that tried its hardest to not include wrestling. Ending in a DQ and run in made this short mess even messier.

WWF World Tag Team Title Match
The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake & Greg Valentine) (w/Johnny V) (c) vs. Lanny Poffo & Tony Garea

Tony Garea is the real MVP of this match. This was just a quick thing to make the champs look good, except at no point did they look good.
