One of metalcore/post-hardcores bigger bands in the early 2010s was Woe, Is Me. The band, known for their time on Rise Records, eventually broke up almost a decade ago after a revolving door of lineup changes. The band had a public split that led to the creation of Issues, and both of the bands beefed with each other with their following studio releases. Woe, Is Me eventually fell off the map shortly after the release of their ‘American Dream EP’ in 2013, though a breakup soon after explained why.
Woe, Is Me made their debut with the 2010 release of ‘Number[s]’ through Velocity Records (Rise Records’ sister label). After the success of ‘Number[s]’ the band found itself with a new line-up and pinned in a staged fight against the newcomers Issues. Woe, Is Me followed up ‘Number[s]’ with their sophomore album ‘Genesi[s]’ and this became a defining moment for Woe, Is Me. After the release of their sophomore album, things fell off for the band. After the release of their EP vocalist, Hance, decided his heart wasn’t in it anymore and left, after this revelation Woe, Is Me decided to call it quits.
All that changed on July 25th, 2022 when former members of Woe, Is Me uploaded the thirty-second teaser to social media. Hance and Michael uploaded the teaser to their platforms, and fans went crazy. The new generation of Woe, Is Me will seem to be a collision of both eras of the band, with Hance and Michael taking on vocals. Beyond the teaser, there is no other information on their return. All members tagged seem to have added Woe, Is Me to their social media bios, clearly indicating something is in the works.
