If you haven’t heard Australian heavy band Shiva yet, you will very soon. The Aussie newcomers blend nu-metal, metalcore, and deathcore influences into something that is best described as heavy – but not completely unrelenting.
Having only formed a couple years ago, the band got to work early on with music for release. With their 2021 album Planet Eater and a couple new singles released this year (you can stream their newest single, “Oppressed”, below), Shiva’s blending of a hodgepodge of heavy genres feels fresh and fairly exciting. We think you’ll dig it a lot, it’s undoubtedly music that will make you want to mosh.
