GCW
Nick Gage Invitational 6
Summit, IL
Nov. 13th, 2021
Good opening tournament match here. Rina came off looking great in a steady bout here. Using both towers of tubes and the tube fans on each other it was a steady back and forth. Rina taking two sets of skewers at the end was great though and hopefully she returns back here soon.

Match turned into a 3 way deathmatch when Charli and Shlak came out as mystery opponents. It was a quicker match with some good spots. Just a lot of botched spots and slips involved.

Colon running the length of the building only for the light tube to not bust to then go and redo it was goofy. Really good back and forth here between these two. Made Akira look great lasting so long against Colon who is GCWs deathmatch king next to Gage. Had some pacing and spot issues but the emotions carried the match during those times.

Takeda slips and falls right at beginning of match. A bit of a sloppy match here and nothing particularly exciting here honestly. It had its moments but from two men, especially Eric Ryan, I expected more.

As usual GCW scrambles continue. Same flaws as always but thankfully the match stayed chaotic pretty much most of it. Some of the spots here high flying wise were fantastic though it was negated with an extremely lackluster closer.

A very lackluster match for NGI. With majority of it being a mediocre wrestling match. A few tubes and glass pane used at the end with a botch thrown in. Don’t know what the issue was but it seemed like the match was more timid for Charlie and Colon took it easy. Granted Charli is newer to this and given that did fantastic, and is fantastic in ring, but for this tournament in the semi finals it should of gone to Shlak or Kit who could of put on a solid deathmatch.

Started out a decent deathmatch here with Takeda having some nasty spots as did Cigar. Turning it into a run in with a cheap finish though was expected and pulled off so lame. Cogar deserved this win for the NGI and having it lost due to a run in from him, then someone else, for a mediocre feud is just lame.
2.5 / 5
A good finale to the NGI but somewhat lackluster. It may be because compared to it would be Colon vs Cogar from TOS this year which was the perfect deathmatch. Colon takes some insane damage though and bleeds like a stuffed pig. The real fun though is the run in from John Wayne Murdoch to end the evening.
