In the neverending search for interesting and unique music, I come across many bands who combine a variety of music styles, some unsuccessfully, and some very successfully. I recently came across Maxime Solemn of Belgium, whose self-styled “violincore” merges by-the-books metalcore with violins. His new music video, “Fight The Light”, can be found below – it’s a solid representation of what he’s trying to do, though it should be noted the violins are sadly buried in the mix, though still somewhat audible.
