A picture surfaced earlier this year of a banner from Warped Tour stating that no crowd surfing would be tolerated. This has been going on for a while, but hasn’t really been enforced. Well, I came across a fan captured video of a security guard attacking a fan after crowd surfing. It’s clear in the video that the security guard was using excessive force, but the members of The Story So Far quickly jumped in to help.
“This was at Warped Tour in Montreal. I was filming The Story So Far and this happened right in front of me! There was a dude who was crowd surfing and this security guy push him violently for no fucking reason AND THEN PARKER CANNON HIT THE SECURITY GUY!”
The above comment was made by Camille who captured the video.
It’s great to see the guys of TSSF jumping off the stage to help without any hesitation. It’s very respectable. WIth security like this it’s important for bands to watch out for their fans. We’ve all seen the video of Aaron Lewis of Staind going off on members of the crowd who were groping an underage girl. If there’s anything to gain from these videos is that there are many ways for fans to be abused at concerts and it’s important that we all look out for each other.
I’m sure I speak for everyone in the rock/metal community when I say thank you to TSSF for stepping in to help this fan.
