Australian deathcore outfit Babirusa have finally revealed new music! The new force to be reckoned with have released their second single, “Abomination”, via Slam Worldwide. The up and comers have previously released one other single, “Desolation System”, which reached tens of thousands of views across all platforms, and built the band an early fanbase. The group has a certain drive and energy about them that shines within their music and their live performances. Babirusa utilizes two vocalists for dynamic value, and it seems to be paying off with intense trade-offs and an explosion of vocal range within the track accompanied by melodically heavy instrumentation.
There’s a lot to be said about a musician’s debut single. It is, after all, the introduction to an artist – and can easily make or break them right from the start. While we’ve covered her extensively in the last year or so, Clio Cadence was born to be a star. That much is obvious from her solid, metalcore-leaning cover of Billie Eilish’s “You Should See Me In A Crown”, released last year. While Clio has already embarked on tours with Dead Girls Academy, her debut solo song “Drive” is a confident introduction to the world of, well, Clio.
One of our favorite releases of 2018, Coldbones’ debut album Where It All Began helped launch the UK-based post-rock trio into the public consciousness with a rock solid debut. Two years later, the band is back The Cataclysm, their sophomore full-length, which promises to be even more exciting. If you like anything remotely related to bands like Russian Circles and Caspian, or post-rock/shoegaze in general, you’ll want to get this band on your radar pronto. The band has an album teaser for the upcoming record, which you can view below as well.
