Wolfi Releases New Music Video “M.I.A” + New Album Coming Soon

Wolfi is an independent DIY artist from Indiana made up by singer songwriter Emerson Vernon. His genre ranges from heartfelt, emotion packed acoustic songs to emo rap bangers similar to the likes of blackbear or Braden Barrie. He recently announced his next album White and said via twitter how the album will revolve around finding himself again, or having a blank “white” canvas after feeling the most lost during the writing process of his previous album Black. A lot of his life and feelings are represented in his music and the new album is said to be very lyrically driven.September 22nd he released the first single off the new album, M.I.A. His response to what the meaning behind the song and video was about was:

“M.I.A is about escaping a toxic environment. My album talks a lot about growing up and I think this video introduces that very well. I wrote the song over a year ago and as I matured this year I really wanted the video to reflect my coming of age, so I decided to tie the supposed girl the song was about to my former self. In the video, No one can see my shadow except for myself and I just let him walk all over my life, until he starts interfering with my music. This past year I felt like my music was starting to lose some meaning from when I started and I wasn’t okay with it, so I set out to really change that with the new album. In just doing that I feel I’ve matured so much and

my “shadow” is now gone.”
