It’s a known fact that a legion of bands simply would not exist had it not been for Linkin Park. They are the rare band to infiltrate almost all of popular culture, and it’s relatively easy to enjoy the band, as well. Many of the current crop of rock and metal vocalists are indebted to the late Chester Bennington for the way he connected with fans, and how he brought genuine emotion in every note he hit.
Telle Smith of The Word Alive is no exception – his versatile vocals have buoyed The Word Alive for almost a decade. With the news that their upcoming album Violent Noise would contain a tribute to Chester Bennington, it’s not a surprise that the band would try their hand at covering Linkin Park, as well. While it’s only a short clip, you can watch TWA briefly cover “Crawling” below. Fans are clamoring for a full recorded version of this, and why not? The TWA style would probably translate well.
Oh shit… I think a few of you said you wanted to hear us cover this song, yeah? ?
