In the span of 5 years, Manchester indie rockers The 1975 have gone from virtual unknowns, to now being one of the biggest bands on planet Earth. There’s something about their accessible yet anthemic sound that has quite obviously connected with fans everywhere, whether it’s early career highlight “Sex”, or newer and ambitious tracks like “lostmyhead” or “Somebody Else” – it’s quite clear why the band has attained the status they have. Essentially, they’re a band doing similar things as INXS did 3 decades ago – you can quite easily compare a lot of tracks off their new album to INXS’s breakout 1987 album, Kick.
The band recently released a full live set at London’s The 02 Arena, where the band played an almost 2 hour set to an excited crowd. There’s all the songs you’d expect here (important tracks like “Love Me” and “UGH!”) and a few surprises, too. Check out the full set below.
