Vocalist Peter “Mean Pete” Kowalsky, the vocalist of acclaimed bands like Remembering Never, Until The End, Ether Coven, and a host of other prominent names in the hardcore // metalcore underground, has passed away. He was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in 2020, though he went into remission later that year (and he still appeared at Furnace Fest 2021).
Tributes to Kowalsky are pouring out from bands he toured with, as well as a plethora of bands and musicians Kowalsky influenced, like Zao, Vomit Forth, and so many more. To say Kowalsky had a huge impact on the music scene is indisputable – especially with Remembering Never, who helped play a prominent role in the development of hardcore and metalcore in the early part of the new millennium.
Very sorry to hear that Peter "Mean Pete" Kowalsky of Remembering Never, Until The End, xBISHOPx & Ether Coven has passed on. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, bandmates & fans.

Remembering Never was one of the first hardcore bands that really spoke to me when I first started going to shows and I used to wear out my copy of “God Save Us” in my car on a daily basis when I was a teenager. RIP, Mean Pete.
