Formed just a couple years ago, chaotic mathcore/metalcore band Under The Pier have already put out some impressive releases – especially last year’s 22 minute full-length, Puff Pieces. For a new band, they certainly seem to have a hold on developing their own unique style – though fans of the kind of unhinged chaos of bands like Frontierer likely know what they’re in for.
For the uninitiated, you’re likely to have fun with this band if you appreciate some really gifted musicians. The band’s new album, An Exercise In Discontent, w=was mixed by Pedram Valiani (Frontierer, Sectioned) at Outlier Sound and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, is even more chaotic music that bridges the gap between metalcore, mathcore, and pure chaos. Take that for what you will, this one is good either way! We’re stoked to bring you an early stream of it a day before it drops on Dark Trail Records, home of all kinds of awesome heavy bands like Fawn Limbs, fallfiftyfeet, and lots more. Enjoy!
