If you want darkness, $uicideboy$ have it in spades – but so too do they have independence. One of the most successful independent artists in any genre, they’re big enough to have their own yearly touring festival (which has featured Knocked Loose, Code Orange, City Morgue, Denzel Curry, and plenty of others in the past), and their cult fanbase has stayed with them over the years. It’s not hard to see why, either. And now they’ve scored yet another huge achievement with one of their most popular songs to date.
The song has now gone Platinum by the RIAA, denoting sales of over one million copies in the USA. It’s also their second Platinum single to date. Notably, the song, which features a sample from Deadmau5 and Kaskade’s “I Remember”, was off streaming services entirely for four years – until 2021, when the samples were finally cleared (and the publishing credits assigned as well).
