Having recently toured with The Body Rampant on a well-received run throughout the USA, along with recently releasing a debut album (last year’s Destroy, So As To Build), San Francisco’s GP are blurring genre lines with their brand new self-titled EP, which is out today. You can stream it below, along with the band’s new video for “Destroy, so as to Build” – which we’re stoked to be premiering today. The band’s strong emphasis on drums and bass are fairly unique in the scene, and while comparisons might immediately be drawn to bands like Incubus and/or Makari, it’s hard to pin down exactly what GP is doing – other than it ROCKS. This is the kind of band that you wouldn’t be surprised to hear on major festivals.
About the new song, the band had this to say: “The song Destroy, so as to Build is an homage to the first record we released last year of the same title. The lyrics are a statement about the troubles that come from waiting for the “right time” to release your work. When it comes to music, there is no better time to share it than right now. What the hell are you waiting for? Its music. Let it out.”
