Very sad news to report this afternoon, as we’ve learned that former Transit guitarist/vocalist Tim Landers, who was in the band until his 2014 departure, has passed away. Transit and Cold Collective both confirmed the sad news via social media this morning. Tributes to Landers are coming in from all corners of the alternative music scene.
Landers was part of Transit from their 2006 inception until parting ways with the band until 2014, being a major part of their breakout album Listen And Forgive in 2011. After departing, he founded the alt-rock band Cold Collective, and had a beloved side project known as Misser. Transit in particular played a hugely underrated role in spearheading the emo revival movement, playing Warped Tour many times, and toured all over before their 2016 breakup.
Rest In Power, Tim. Let’s keep mental health in the public conversation.
Tim Landers (@terencetimothy) of @Transitma/@missermusic has passed away, as confirmed by his partner Nicole Theiss. This is awful. What a talented human. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends. Please keep mental health and addiction in the national conversation. pic.twitter.com/Wpce0p77Kp
