Part of a vital wave of emo and post-hardcore bands that hit the scene in the early part of the new millennium, Senses Fail carved out a name for themselves almost right away. With the success of their debut EP in 2002, it wasn’t long before bigger labels came calling.
Released on September 7th, 2004, Let It Enfold You was the big coming out party for Senses Fail. It ended up becoming the band’s first (and only) Gold record to date, and its popularity is easy to understand even now. Armed with a charismatic vocalist in Buddy Nielsen and a sound that bridged the gap between post-hardcore and poppier emo influences, “Buried A Lie” and “Lady In A Blue Dress” became cultural touchstones for the MySpace generation.
Armed with some of the most infectious guitar riffs and melodies of the era, the record captures a very young band taking a musical leap forward. And it certainly wasn’t their last, either, as Still Searching and Renacer would attest to.
