This Day In Music History: January 22nd, 2007 – A Day To Remember releases ‘For Those Who Have Heart’

A Day To Remember’s For Those Who Have Heart in both an exercise in fun, as well as a harbinger of things to come. While it wasn’t until Homesick in 2009 that the band’s career really took off, the Ocala natives’ brand of pop-punk and metalcore was in full effect here, especially on the opening song, “Fast Forward To 2012”. Really, though, the whole album is great and far more than just a trip down nostalgia lane. Originally released on January 22nd, 2007, its impact is still felt now.

What’s great about the album is that it hasn’t aged much. Though it created a sea of bands in its wake (most of which are still trying to unsuccessfully meld the band’s metalcore and pop-punk combination), tracks like “A Plot To Bomb The Panhandle” and “The Danger In Starting A Fire” remain iconic today.

Listen to the album in full below, whether you’re a fan of the band or brand new to ADTR, For Those Who Have Heart remains a catchy, addictive, and heavy watershed moment in alternative music.
