There’s quite obviously dancing in the streets of Leicester, as the Foxes pulled off arguably the most improbable championship in history by winning the Barclays Premier League. After all, they were supposed to be facing relegation by most prognosticators. They were almost relegated last season, and entering 2015-16 most didn’t peg them in the top half of the table – let alone anywhere near a Champions League spot. But that’s just what underdogs do – find a way to win, and keep winning. Leicester City’s championship is bigger than Boris Becker, bigger than Kurt Warner, and bigger than USA Hockey beating the Russians in 1980.
Leicester also has some heroes of their own – alternative rockers Omaha, who just released their new album, Young Hearts. It’s the follow-up to their 2014 EP Chapters, a release I felt was worthy of more attention than it initially received. Young Hearts continues in much the same vein, but it’s got more hooks, and is a generally more mature and refined product. It’s almost like a grittier version of You Me At Six’s Take Off Your Colours album, which years later, still remains close to my heart.
