The Plot In You’s “Closure” has reached the top 40 at active rock radio

The Plot In You have had a huge last few years, and the release of newest single “Closure” continues that hot streak. Part of a string of songs they’re releasing in 2024, it follows up the success of recent singles “Forgotten” and “Left Behind” with a more radio-friendly sound, especially echoed by the lyrics, which describe a relationship needing, well, “Closure”. It’s also proof that the band succeeds at almost anything they try, with their sound being increasingly hard to pigeonhole. Are they metalcore? Post-hardcore? Alt-rock? All of these descriptors could be valid, yet there’s also a distinct pop influence in their newer work as well.

Anyway, the point is that it’s been quite successful. The song has now reached the top 40 at active rock radio. It’s also conveniently sandwiched between new songs from Sleep Theory and From Ashes To New, two bands that are experiencing breakouts of their own right now. Currently finishing up a tour supporting Beartooth, this certainly isn’t the last you’ll hear from TPIY this year.
