The Anix channels ’90s alt-rock vibes on new single, “Frozen Waves”

Defining The Anix is rather tricky work. With influences all across the rock and electronic spectrums, the LA-based artist has certainly made a name for himself over the years. The project of Brandon Smith, his music has been featured everywhere from Call Of Duty to even the Mass Effect series, which is undoubtedly pretty neat.

We’re stoked to team up with The Anix today for the release of a new song, “Frozen Waves”. A song culled from his upcoming full-length album NIGHTVISION (out in 2023), the song conjures up some obvious ’90s alt-rock vibes without straying too far from his familiar sound.

“‘Frozen Waves’ is an idea exploring two opposing forces to form one,” explains The Anix. “The idea that water is beautiful but can be deadly, and can transform once frozen into a brittle and sharp substance. This is a metaphor for what happens to us as humans when exposed to certain trauma in life. We can become new versions of ourselves, sometimes dangerous or beautiful versions.”
