If you want to talk about bands that are flying under the radar, progressive metalcore band Johnny Booth should be at the top of almost every list. While they existed for quite a few years before, it was 2019 ‘s full length album Firsthand Accounts that really focused a major spotlight on what this promising band was up to. Johnny Booth dabbles in high octane metalcore that often proves to be as catchy as it is unpredictable.
Johnny Booth’s 2023 full length Moments Elsewhere broke everything open for the band, though. Another example of Johnny Booth taking quite a while between records, it’s clear that the time taken to write such huge songs in this way makes the added time well worth it. Now the band is getting picked up for chores, supporting the likes of Silent Planet, and it’s hard to deny that everything this band has been working towards seems to have paid off so far.
There’s even better news now, though. At least according to social media, they’re in the studio. Presumably working on new music right now. While the wait times between records has certainly paid off. As far as quality goes, Johnny Booth has never been more popular. So it would make a lot of sense for the band to at least try to get a new song or two out to capitalize on the momentum they recruit in the last 12 to 18 months.
